The Cape Bank Charitable Foundation donated $25,000 to Gilda's Club

Community Partners

In 2010, the CapeBank Charitable Foundation recognized a need to maximize its charitable efforts in a way that would give the most positive effect to our communities. Thus partnerships were formed with several charitable organizations within Cape May and Atlantic counties. These organizations are all human services organizations that strive to make a difference in our community.

The Arc of Atlantic County

"Everyone deserves to be treated with respect." This core value of The Arc is reflected in all they do. With a mission to improve the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community through direct services, advocacy, education and prevention activities, The Arc works in partnership with individuals and their families to make choices possible about how and where they live, learn, play and work.

Community Food Bank of New Jersey/Southern Branch

Community FoodBank of NJ, Southern Branch is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that solicits, stores and distributes donations of food & grocery products on behalf of other charitable feeding programs serving those in need since 1987. With the help of thousands of volunteers and a dedicated staff of 21 full and part time employees, the Community Food Bank distributes an average 110,000 pounds of groceries every week (over 5.7 million pounds a year) to over 230 partner agencies in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and southern Burlington counties.

CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) of Atlantic & Cape May Counties

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers are everyday people who are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children living within the foster care system. A CASA volunteer advocates for one child's case until he/she is placed into a safe, permanent and loving home. Today, CASA serves over 290 children. CASA's goal is to continue training volunteers until they can provide a volunteer advocate for every child living within the foster care system.

Gilda's Club South Jersey

Gilda's Club is named in honor of comedian Gilda Radner who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1986. Gilda believed that all people with cancer and their families and friends should have free access to social and emotional support. After she died in 1989, her husband, Gene Wilder, vowed to make her vision a reality. He did, with the first Gilda's Club opening its doors in New York City in 1995. With the help of the Ruth Newman Shapiro Cancer and Heart Fund Gilda's Club South Jersey opened in 2003 and offers support groups, lectures, workshops and social events as a supplement to medical care in a warm and welcoming home-like setting. The program is free of charge and open to everyone. Gilda's Club is dependent on individual and corporate donations of funds, labor, supplies and talent. 100% of every dollar donated supports the Clubhouse and the members.
